 FAQ’s

  • You can come to the centre without being referred; this is called a self -referral. You can phone to ask the best time to come along to the centre if you would like to chat to a member of staff. If it is your first time we recommend coming along to the drop in café; on a Tuesday and Thursday morning 10-12. If there is something else on our programme you would like to attend, please call us to discuss.

  • As our name implies, we are an organisation for women in the Glasgow area. We welcome everyone who identifies as a woman regardless of race, sexual orientation, background or any other marginalising factor. It is extremely important that every woman feels safe and welcome in our centre and we will tolerate no form of discrimination in-centre or within our online community.

  • The Women’s Centre is very happy to be able to provide in-person services once again, which include fitness classes, baby and children activities, drop-in sessions and more. Our programme of weekly activities in-person can be found on the “About Us” page. We also consider the restrictions which time, travel, physical ability, mental ability etc can place on women and so it is our mission to expand our online services; providing educational and supportive content on our website, including on our blog, and social media. We also provide counselling services for moderate therapy in-centre or online.

  • The Women’s Centre Glasgow first sought funding 30 years ago for our project. Our journey began with setbacks as the original funding application was rejected but the dream remained and the organisation fought on to secure financial support for our vision. Eventually we succeeded and the centre was built in Maryhill. In 1994 we launched our services at the centre and have continued to grow and fight to be a sustainable support network for local women since!

  • We do our best to always provide the most accurate information here on our website including the current season programme, which changes roughly every 2 months, and all the latest about one-off events which you can find on our “Announcements” page. We often host new courses and have changes to our timetable but also include a lot of regular activities such as creche, drop-in sessions, keep fit and others.
